Vicious CircleThe collective known as the Vicious Circle began life in a flat in South London in 2003. Born out of a mutual love of all things Drum & Bass and with a wide range of influences, VC set out to make an impact on the ever growing worldwide DnB scene.
Five years have passed since those early hedonistic days and in that time Vicious Circle have become one of the leading lights in UK Drum & Bass.
As a production outfit, Vicious Circle have made their name through a strict quality over quantity approach to their releases.
It all started with their massive remix of pioneering outfit Universal Project’s ‘Jackhammer’ which caught the attention of legendary label Renegade Hardware as well as a number of A-List Dj’s such as Pendulum and Friction.
Rarely has such a strong debut been seen and the track immediately catapulted VC to the forefront of the ‘leaders of the new school’ category and they have steadily built on that early success with a number of key releases.
Tracks such as ‘Hellrazor’ on UP Recordings, ‘Between the Lines’ on Renegade Hardware’s Carpe Diem LP, ‘Bleak’ on Trace’s DSCi4 imprint and of course their highly anticipated debut Hardware artist EP ‘Welcome to Shanktown’ have set a standard in terms of production quality and sheer dance floor energy that few have matched.
Their talents have led to a number of high profile collaborations with the likes of Ram Records hit makers Chase & Status, the legendary Dom & Roland and new skool hero Sabre to name a few. A growing reputation as remixers with the magic touch has spawned a number of smashers such as their monstrous take on Mindscape & Chris SU’s ‘Planet X’ with RymeTyme and has also alerted the likes of Ed Rush & Optical and Cause 4 Concern so expect to see VC grace Virus & C4C Recordings in the near future.
Vicious Circle continue to destroy the myth that producers generally can’t DJ with regular highly acclaimed appearances at events such as Renegade Hardware at The End, Breakin Science, Therapy Sessions, Innovation in the Sun and Def:Inition as well as a hectic worldwide DJ schedule that has seen them put pins in the globe everywhere from Atlanta to Zagreb!
Radio appearances on Pyro Radio and BBC 1xtra to name a few have also been warmly received and have helped VC gain a strong fan base across the globe.
The future is looking bright for the London crew with a solid stack of releases covering the full DnB spectrum lined up over the coming months including material for DnB godfather Shy Fx’s Digital Soundboy imprint and Kasra’s forward thinking Critical Music amongst others. A debut artist album alongside Universal Project is scheduled to drop towards the end of the year with early tracks receiving huge support from the scene’s big dogs and 2008 could also see VC launching their own label.
So with a new found versatility to their productions giving them the tools to bridge the gap between the ever growing sub-genres of our scene, Vicious Circle could well become the new heroes of Drum & Bass.
Blast - Yellow stripeBlast, de 22 anos e residente no porto, iniciou a sua carreira como dj em abril de 2007. Apesar de usar inicialmente como suporte o computador, em maio de 2006 aderiu ao vinil, sendo o suporte que actualmente utiliza.
Como dj, marcou-se por aderir principalmente ás sonoridades mais pesadas tais como tech, hard, dark, neurofunk e wreck-step.
Um mês após a sua estreia, junta-se ao colectivo yellow-stripe, a actual promotora official das Therapy Sessions portuguesas, á qual pertencem T-rex e C-netik.
Desde então, passou a macar presença assídua nas therapy sessions em portugal, partilhando palcos com artistas como: propaganda, current value, raiden, counterstrike, panacea,limewax, vicious circle, prolix, entre outros...
Em novembro de 2007 divulga pela 1ª vez o seu trabalho no estrangeiro, juntamente com T-rex, participou na apresentação do mais recente álbum da offkey "the firm lp".
Influenciado por estilos musicais como techno, hip hop, electro, breakbeat, hardcore, chillout, funk e jazz, Blast já começa também numa procura de fugir ao seu estilo habitual, concentrando-se no liquid e no electro-break/electro-clash.
Para além da música, a arte faz também parte da sua vida, principalmente o graffiti, ao qual já se dedica desde 2001.
Nesse mesmo ano surge a crew Maniaks, á qual actualmente ainda pertence juntamente com: Nitro, Mots, Esod e Deal.
Como writer, já marcou presença na jam "graffiti non stop" realizada em Wroclaw, Polónia e no evento internacional da Montana cans "just writing my name", realizado na casa da música.
T-rex - Yellow stripeT-ReX é um dj oriundo da cidade do Porto, começou a actividade como Dj em 2002/2003 passando Trance sob o nome de Dopamine (Mind Sessions). Mais tarde em 2004 teve a oportunidade de passar Drum and Bass, no Zenite Bar onde foi bem recebido pelo publico e tendo assim dado o salto para as grandes pistas de dança do país. Desde então marcou presença em cidades, Clubes e Teatros como: Em Espanha : Sevilha - Sala Micro Libre, em Portugal no Porto : Teatro Sá da Bandeira, Club Mau Mau, Porto-Rio, Clube Gare, Maré Alta, Contajiarte, Teatro Campo Alegre, Faculdade de Belas Artes do Porto; Em Lisboa : Tuatara, Faculdade de Arquitectura; Em S.Joao da Madeira : Fora..d..horas; Em Mondim de Bastos: Heets Club; Em Viana: Café del Rio; no Marco de Canaveses: Fresh; em Braga :Bingo; em Mira: Dunas Bar; Paços de Ferreira: Samathe, Pavilhao das Sebestianas; Castelo de Paiva entre outras…
Actuou em grandes eventos tais como: BIG UP NYE 2009, THE FIRM LP OFFKEY LAUNCH PARTY em Espanha, 1ª e 2ª edição do OPORTO URBAN FESTIVAL, no After-Party do CAMPEONATO NACIONAL de DJS, no primeiro festival de 2 dias de Drum and Bass em Portugal o WINTERFEST, e nas famosas “THERAPY SESSIONS Portugal”…

Foi um dos nomeados para o prémio de DJ REVELAÇAO 2007, do COP AWARDS 2007, um site dedicado as sonoridades do Drum and Bass. Em 2008 foi nomeado para os Awards do Backstage Music Forum, tendo ficado em 3º Melhor Dj Nacional
As suas actuações passam por todos os sub-generos do Drum and Bass, tendo como preferência o Tech-Step e os sons mais pesados do Drum and Bass.
É também um dos fundadores da Promotora Yellow-Stripe e sendo ele o responsável pela vinda para Portugal de eventos como Therapy Sessions, e de artistas como APHRODITE, THE QEMISTS, RAIDEN, THE PANACEA, DJ HAZARD, TECHNICAL ITCH, LIMEWAX, ROBYN CHAOS, DYLAN, PROLIX, ERB..N..DUB, VENGEANZE, DUB ELEMENTS, THE SECT entre muitos outros…

Kronik peopleTHE KRONIK PEOPLE IS A GROUP OF FRIENDS FROM SINTRA. PARTY PEOPLE SINCE 1998 THEY MANAGED TO FOLLOW THE ELECTRONIC MUSIC SCENE EVOLUTION IN PORTUGAL GOING TO TRANCE PARTIES TILL 2000. AROUND THAT TIME THEY FOUND THE UNDERGROUND TECHNO MOVEMENT OFFERING NEW BEATS OPEN MINDS AND MOST OF ALL THE FREE PARTY CONCEPT.
IN 2004 THEY STARTED PRODUCING SOME TRACKS WITH CHEESY SOFTWARE AND RAW TOOLS, ANYWAY HEAVY TECHNO BEATS WERE POUNDING FROM THEIR SPEAKERS IN THAT TIME TILL THEY STARTED PRODUCING DRUM’N’BASS. AT THE END OF 2007 THEY FOCUSED ON SHOWING THEIR WORK TO EVERYONE THROUGH INTERNET AND RADIO BROADCASTING THE CONNECTION WITH MC TRESH AND SOUR SINGER GAVE THEM A CHANCE TO BUILD AN AMAZING TRACK FULL OF FEELING - "HEADBONES" (nominated for best PT DNB track of 2008)
IN 2008 APRIL’S 4TH THEY MADE THEIR FIRST BIG FREE PARTY WITH THE SUPPORT OF FRIENDS FROM SETUBAL AND LOUSA, STARTING A NEW ERA FOR THE KRONIK PEOPLE. IN OCTOBER THAT YEAR THEY HAD THEIR FIRST GIG OUTSIDE PORTUGAL WITH DJ AFAR BY INVITATION OF LABIRINZ SOUNDSYSTEM FROM REGGIO EMILIA (italy). THIS EXPERIENCE WAS ONE BIG DREAM COME TRUE, PLAYING A RAGGA JUNGLE DNB IN A MASSIVE SQUATED SOCIAL CENTER WITH MORE THAN 10 YEARS! - "LAB.AQ16"

D Element Q - 105 agencyD Element Q, é uma dupla de dj’s do Porto, constituída por João Almeida e Pedro Queirós.
Em 2006, após terem tido carreiras diferentes no mundo do Drum&Bass nacional, decidiram juntar-se com base na sua amizade e com a intenção de alcançarem os mesmos objectivos.
Desde então, os D Element Q marcaram presença em diferentes locais do país, desde Porto, Lisboa, Braga e Coimbra, tendo como principais casas ao longo da sua carreira musical o Porto Rio, Maré Alta, Sala 114, Maus Hábitos, Armazém do Chá e Oporto Winter Club, situadas no Porto, como também, o Domus Open Air, Europa e Tuatara, em Lisboa.
Com bastante orgulho já poderam partilhar o deck com os melhores dj’s nacionais e com alguns internacionais, como Temper D, Propaganda, Meth, Khanage, Zen, Audio, Raiden, Cabbie, The Sect, Identity, Phace e Vicious Circle.
Os D Element Q, têm como principais influências nacionais o colectivo Basic Manuvers e dj’s como Trap e Subway. O seu gosto musical passa por um pouco de tudo, desde o Liquid ao Techstep. Apresentam-se como uma dupla versátil, que consegue agradar todo o tipo de público, garantindo sempre uma óptima noite a quem os espera.
Neste momento, esta dupla começa uma nova etapa, associando-se a uma nova agencia, a 105 Agency.
